IPITEK Will Demonstrate its Circuit Emulation Service (CES), the MSP-CES, at the SCTE Cable Tec Expo – Come By and See Us

October 18, 2010

CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA – IPITEK, Inc. a leading designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of carrier class transport products, will demonstrate a number of new products designed to maximize bandwidth at the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Cable-Tec Expo, October 20-22, 2010 in New Orleans, LA. Among the products featured was IPITEK’s new state-of-the-art Circuit Emulation Service (CES), the MSP-CES, a carrier-grade Ethernet solution used for integrating next-generation circuit and packet services over carrier networks.

The MSP-CES is a low-cost, low-power, modular, plug-and-play, hot-swappable carrier-grade Ethernet solution used for integrating next-generation circuit and packet services over carrier networks. It supports TDM as well as packet services over a single network infrastructure. Currently, IPITEK’s MSP-CES service module portfolio includes T3/E3 module that supports channelized mode (T1/E1-to-T3/E3 aggregation and transport) as well as transparent mode (for T3/E3-to-T3/E3 services). It also supports T1/E1 module, user configurable OC-3/STM-1 module supporting either channelized mode (T1/E1-to-OC3/STM-1 aggregation and transport) and transparent mode OC3/STM-1 (i.e., OC3/STM1-to-OC3/STM-1 services).

Moreover, the MSP-CES is unique in the industry in that it provides a 10G Ethernet module. This 10G module, combined with flexibility to hot-swap out the MSP-CES’s TDM-modules for “all-Ethernet” modules, allows MSP-CES to instantly and seamlessly evolve from 1G Ethernet CES access solution into a 10G Ethernet transport solution offering tremendous bandwidth. IPITEK’s MSP-CES is the only system in the industry that can achieve these goals together. Also, IPITEK’s MSP-CES supports Synchronous Ethernet as well as other synchronization approaches. Backed by a carrier-class stand-alone IEEE 1588v2 synchronization system (MSP-1588) used for “build-as-needed” synchronization overlays, the MSP-CES allows service providers to meet synchronization requirements of any application including the stringent wireless mobile backhaul.

The advanced integrated technologies the MSP-CES combines in a single rack unit (1 RU) platform provide the ultimate flexibility in transport solutions: from TDM over packet access application to hybrid Ethernet and TDM access and aggregations to high-speed (10G) Ethernet transport to C/DWDM–based transport. The mode of operation is the customer’s choice!

The MSP-CES is designed so that it can keep growing its service-mix support. For example, the MSP-CES will also support carrier-class HD video over Ethernet using the “same” chassis and slots. Therefore, the flexibility and self-evolution of the MSP-CES will guarantee very long lifetime in the field which leads to tremendous cost advantages, something completive offerings lack!

The Carrier Ethernet Services Platform also provides standards-based Operation, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) and monitoring features at node, link, and service levels. It supports IEEE 802.1ag ITU Y.1731 ensuring customers the ability to meet and monitor their service-level agreement (SLA) offering and to continuously check for the health of their network and business operation. This integration helps in meeting the critical and urgent needs of most stringent applications such as wireless mobile backhaul networks, which are facing ever-increasing high bandwidth demand as a result of wireless consumer electronics and applications that go considerably beyond other bandwidth-hungry services such as Internet access, video and gaming.

“With our new wireless backhaul features, IPITEK is able to provide a mission-critical platform that satisfies the challenging requirements cable operators face today,” said Michael Salour, IPITEK’s Chairman and CEO. “This low-cost, highly robust solution is fully optimized for mobile and wireless backhaul networks, and ideal for today’s bandwidth-hungry applications.”
