CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA -- Integrated Photonics Technology (IPITEK), a leading designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of Video-Optimized Intelligent Broadband Networks, announced today that it has added dual bi-directional Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) standard component video links to its SONET compliant MSP-220 Pro Video multiplexer model line-up. MSP-220’s new features offer link efficiency, low-latency, low jitter, transparency, and carrier class loopback testing and monitoring to the video signals traversing the synchronous network in order to meet the highest grade of service levels for carriers and their customers.

The MSP-220 models now fully support flexible multiplexing of any type of video, including Telcordia GR-338 TV-1 tariff short-haul quality analog video, with normal or FM diplexed audio, plus simultaneous and bi-directional single or multiple 270 mb/s digital video links. The products also provide an Ethernet user channel for production purposes across Metro fiber or SONET OC-12 infrastructure links with similar products.

MSP-220’s remote monitoring management features have also been improved to help support operations. Optical power levels and SONET frame level performance with user settable thresholds are now available on the product line, allowing carriers to see real-time error degradations in services using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) event messages regardless of digital video signal format.
