CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA -- Integrated Photonics Technology (IPITEK), a leading designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of Video-Optimized Intelligent Broadband Networks, announced today that it is significantly ramping up production of its MSP-110 product due to increased demand by cable multi-system operators (MSOs). IPITEK’s MSP-110 has proved to be an ideal solution for MSOs as they prepare for the upcoming Digital Television (DTV) transition, which will require additional digital TV feeds from national broadcasters to cable headends in order to support the new off-air ATSC Digital TV mandate by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), scheduled for February of 2009.

The MSP-110 product is designed to carry analog video, which will remain on cable networks well beyond the DTV transition deadline, and also allows for Digital Video Broadcasting-Asynchronous Serial Interface (DVB-ASI) streams over single fiber, creating the seamless combination of features and flexibility for cable operators. In addition, it features cost-effective remote monitoring management tools, optical power levels and SONET frame level performance with user-settable thresholds, enabling operators to see real-time error degradations in services using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) event messages regardless of digital video signal format.
