IPITEK, a leading designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of Video-Optimized Intelligent Broadband Networks, today introduced a number of new features specifically tuned for wireless backhaul for its Carrier Ethernet Services Platform (MSP-CES). These new features ensure a high operational robustness and significantly increase flexibility by allowing its users to select the synchronization approaches that best fit their applications.
Featuring both synch-E and the latest IEEE 1588-2008, IPITEK’s industry-leading modular multi-service platform for carrier-grade Ethernet is low cost, highly integrated and power-efficient. The new features also include a 10G switch module, adding an unprecedented 10G capacity to backhaul rings. This integrated platform helps to meet the critical and urgent needs of mobile and wireless backhaul networks, which are facing ever-increasing high bandwidth demand as a result of wireless consumer electronics and applications that go considerably beyond other bandwidth-hungry services such as Internet access, video and gaming.
IPITEK also announced the introduction of a new multi-port T3/E3 module that complements its existing Time-Division Multiplexing (TDM) module portfolio of T1/E1 and channelized Optical Carrier-3 (OC-3/STM-1). This new feature provides customers an application-aligned solution to provide to their consumers with capabilities that exactly match their requirements.
The Carrier Ethernet Services Platform also now provides standards-based Operation, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) and monitoring features at node, link, and service levels. Adding to its current suite of OAM and monitoring support, IPITEK now supports IEEE 802.1ag, ensuring customers the ability to meet and monitor their service-level agreement (SLA) offering and to continuously check for the health of its network and business operation.
“With our new wireless backhaul features, IPITEK is able to provide a mission-critical platform that satisfies the challenging requirements cable operators face today,” said Michael Salour, IPITEK’s Chairman and CEO. “This low-cost, highly robust solution is fully optimized for mobile and wireless backhaul networks, and ideal for today’s bandwidth-hungry applications.”
